The 'ground of high rocks' on Palomar Mountain.

June 30, 2007

We have now sold the cabin.   We were never able to find the time to do the extensive remodeling that was required. It is still a very nice property with a great view.

The property is heavily treed with Canyon Oak, Black Oak, Incense Cedar, White Fir and Coulter Pines.  There is an abundance of coffee berry, basket bush (trilobota) and a scrub oak we believe to be Mueller.

You can see a peek-a-boo view south from the BBQ area.   Turn and face north by northeast and Thomas Mountain is visible through the trees.  There is about a 190 degree view from the Santa Rosa Mountains to San Clemente Island and Oceanside North Harbor.   On a clear day with the sun in the right position, the Coronado bridge, downtown San Diego and the Coronado Islands off of Mexico are seen.  The sunrises and sunsets are beautiful.   Click on views below for a sample.
